A canker sore is a type of oral ulcer. Officially called an aphthous ulcer, it is a painful, exposed ulceration inside of the mouth. They can be triggered by fatigue, stress, physical trauma in the mouth area, such as dental work, braces, and chemo and radiation treatments. They can also be caused by food allergies from acidic food, however, Canker Sores Begone Stick™ is not effective for these mouth sores.
For most, canker sores don’t have early warning signs. There’s a burning sensation from an exposed ulcer that’s extremely painful and more so when trying to eat or drink. Talking can be difficult also. They last anywhere from a few days to several weeks.
